October 8th Meeting Minutes

PNTC OCT 08, 2022 Meeting Notes


Meeting held at Jerry Lane’s in LaCenter WA. Steve Crow opened the meeting at 10:00

a.m. Officers present included Steve Crow, Interim Pres.; Conrad Berthold, Treas; Walt

White, Wa Sec; Jerry Lane, and Vince Bogard, Or Sec.

Gen Fund Begin Bal. $23,885.91

Revenue + 340.00 (175 Dues, 120 table rent, 45 hospitality)

Expenses - 1,848.00 (300 Rent, 1250 Scholarship, 250 Cntr for non


profit law, 48 auction payout)


 General Fund Bal $22,377.21

    Scholarship Fund $14,992.48

    BITW fund $ 7,545.74 (see separate BITW financial report)


Announcements

Next meeting is Nov 12 WA Masonic Hall

Old Business

BITW Favors – Motion by Mike Bjur was seconded & carried to sell Lee Valley favors for

$30 each. 2022 BITW favors are available at $75 for those who did not get one at the

show.

2024 Favors Committee – Walt White will chair. Need volunteers for favor work.

Scholarships – Anne Marie reported that one student will start an upholstery course

winter term. The other enrolled in welding in Walla Walla.

Newsletter – Zach Howell will distribute. He asks those who need snail mail newsletter

to please sign up. There may be an additional cost for copying & mailing. Others will

receive newsletter via email.

Volunteers for Office – Steve reminded members we need people to step up.

* At Board meeting, it was announced that Josh Schiller volunteered .

By-Laws Rewrite re 501c3 – Attorney reviewed and made some recommended

revisions.

Best Display of Specific Trade, Craft, or Theme – Mike Bjur – Saddle Axes

Best Display of Single Maker or Supplier – Jim Gillis – Traut Patents

Best Single Tool – Steve Dice – Deck Sled

Best Tool of own making/modification – Todd Berger – The Berger Bob

Best Display of Tool use – Ken Bassett – Trades and Tools Photographs

Attendee’s Choice – Walt White – Watchmaker’s Lathe

Judge’s Choice – Ed Leigan - Vises

Membership Roster – Zach Howell will work on updating roster. Volunteer help

appreciated.

New Member Welcome Letter - Conrad will compose a letter to be sent to all new

members.

MOTION & VOTE

At the WA meeting a motion for a “vote of no confidence” and “removal of

current officers/directors” was made by John Wandling, 2 nd by Darrel Six. Much

discussion at Oct 8 meeting, including opinions and statements by Dan Christenson, Les

Marty, Bill Racine,Tom Brown, John Kelly, Darrel Six, and Jim Gillis.

Motion by Mike Bjur, and 2nd by Steve Brodwick to call for the question/vote. Motion

passed. Members voted, results to be announced after WA meeting vote.

October 8th Executive Board Meeting Minutes

PNTC BOARD MEETING Minutes at Jerry Lane’s La Center WA Oct 08, 2022

Steve Crow opened the meeting which followed the General Meeting after lunch.

Other officers were Jerry Lane OR VP, Conrad Berthold Treas, and Vince Bogard OR

Sec.

Bylaws rewrite - Jim Gillis went over minor changes following review by the attorney.

He will rewrite and submit to the Board.

 

WA Sargent of Arms – Josh Schiller volunteered.

Budget – Conrad Berthold presented a budget worksheet for Board discussion.

No further business, meeting adjourned.
