The 2022 Best In The West show was a resounding success. I would like to take a moment and thank all the people who dedicated so much of their time, energy, money, and commitment to this year's event. It is extremely difficult to plan an event with many people still undecided as to whether it's safe to be around groups, rampant inflation and cost increases, and the time that is needed to attend and support the event. Nonetheless our leadership pressed on through the unknowns and delivered a wonderful engaging and memorable event for our club.
The BITW show started with the early morning pre-dawn tailgate sale. I got there at 5:15 and there were already people buying amazing stuff. We had over 25 vendors and a full parking lot of amazing tools to choose from. Check out the video below for a taste of the early morning sale.
From the early sale then the famous tool displays were moved in and installed. What an amazing group of talented and dedicated members. There were displays on Axes, hammers, vises, spokeshaves, squares, one of kind planes, one of the largest wrench sets I have ever seen, early tradesman photographs, tool Art, miniatures, antique routers of all kinds, letter openers, tie clips, watchmakers lathe, Saws, Boat building tools, rare woodworking tools, a handmade Berger Bob that you truly need to see to believe and more.
See the video of the Displays below (but in my opinion you need to see them in person).
The table sales and auctions were incredible as well. There was so much top shelf stuff I didn't know where to look. Things I ever even knew existed make their way to BITW and were available to bring home.
